Chief (Arc.) Fola Alade, OFR was a very active sportsman all through his life from excelling in the Soccer team at Christ's School, Ado Ekiti, to his days of Lawn Tennis at the Nigerian College of Arts, Science and Technology, Zaria.
He had a most infectious love for Swimming, an amazing passion for Squash Racket, Badminton and a glorious Gol?ng life. He contributed to the development of Sports in Nigeria while he served at the Squash Racket Association of Nigeria. He actually enjoyed Golf and Swimming into his twilight years.
He was a very good Table Tennis, and Cricket player; he enjoyed a variety of Board Games including the local game of Ayo, Chess, Scrabble, Draught, Backgammon, Playing Cards, Whot, etc.
One of his favourite past times was Billiards and Snooker, he ?tted his homes at Allen Avenue, Victoria Island and his country Home in Aramoko Ekiti with Swimming pools and professional Billiards/Snooker tables.
He founded the Club Arcade of Lagos at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos. He was the ?rst President of Club Arcade and also the ?rst President of Ekiti Golf Club.
He was a member of MicCom Golf Resort, Ada, Osun State and Ikoyi Golf Club 1938, Abuja Golf Club and many others.
He learnt to play the piano at primary school. He loved Music.
